Y Combinator-backed insurtech providing business insurance for startups and high-growth companies. Grew to a valuation of over $1B; its technology platform was acquired by Hiscox in June 2025.
As the first engineering hire, I helped build Vouch’s core technology platform. It supported hundreds of millions of dollars in gross written premium.
- Designed and built the policy administration system around an event-sourced engine that handles pricing, billing, and endorsements.
- Developed the underwriting, quoting, and document-generation workflows, plus a recommendation system for coverage selection.
- Built an internal prompt-management system that powers AI workflows across the platform, using FastAPI, LangChain, and OpenAI.
- Led the build-out of the infrastructure platform: CI/CD pipelines, AWS infrastructure, and monitoring and alerting, supporting over 80 services.
- Worked across the full stack: React, TypeScript and Python services, Rails APIs, and AWS.
